Fall.

Fall
is definitely here. Mornings are chilly and the evenings still warm.
Salmon are in the rivers, the wind is restless and while the rain keeps holding out on us,
there's enough chanterelles to gather for a meal. Big swells are coming down from Alaska. Gardens are overflowing and
at the same time dwindling. The leaves are changing and honkers are
flying south. I am a little sad that summer is about to
end, but I’m smelling woodsmoke in the air and it’s getting
me excited about winter. I can’t wait to come home after a chilly hike
or frigid surf to our toasty wood stove, some hot tea and stew. But for now, I will enjoy every day of this amazing season.
